In the south of the Yunling Mountains, Yunnan cuisine makes the impression of Yunnan more vivid. In the multi-ethnic and multi-cultural region of Yunnan, the diversity and fusion of ingredients have become the essence of Yunnan cuisine. Coming to this scenic spot located in the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, all kinds of experiences cannot replace the traces of food left on the tip of people's tongues. People feel the life of Yunnan people for generations when enjoying the food.

In Kunming Mixc City, Yunnan,

Jieshi Design designed an upgraded restaurant

outlet forEggplant Cha Cha, an authentic Yunnan

restaurant brand. Seasons are to be felt,

flavors are to be savored.

Nowadays,

Eggplant Cha Cha breeds innovation within tradition,

incorporates new ways of cooking,

and has become more popular with

local and international diners.

空间设计的灵感来源于地方多民族文化融合的状态，将云南地域文化精粹，自然属性融于其中。设计师采用扎染、腰鼓、东巴纸等一系列传统元素，与现代长虹玻璃，炫彩屏等元素结合，用材料引发共鸣，塑造传统之中的潮流气息。

The space design is inspired by the state of local multi-ethnic cultural fusion, integrating the essence of Yunnan regional culture and natural attributes. The designers used a series of traditional elements such as tie-dye, waist drums and Dongba paper, combined with modern ribbed glass, dazzling color screen and other elements, resonating with the materials and shaping the trend of the traditional atmosphere.

Culture becomes an important flavor of dining

and is incorporated into the design of the space.

The lighting is subtle and Eggplant Cha Cha

is a restaurantthat strikes the right balance between

cultural expression and metaphor.

In the bar area, the ceiling is layered, and tie-dye fabric is

used as ceiling decoration to separate

the dining space in an undulating manner.

对于多民族的云南，自然是均衡的给予者。扎染来自白族，取自草木本色，四季片段，每一件扎染作品的独特在于不确定性，就如同自然存在的方式，瞬息万变。

For multi-ethnic Yunnan, nature is a balanced giver. Tie-dye comes from the Bai ethnic group and is taken from the natural colors of grass and woods, and segments of the four seasons. The uniqueness of each piece of tie-dye work lies in the uncertainty, just like the way nature exists, which is ever-changing.

在素雅的扎染之间，运用朴拙原生的毛石加以映衬，为凸显食材来源自然，成为人们盘中的美味珍馐的过程，这一过程可能历经四季，阳光雨露，最终抵达食客餐盘之上。

The use of simple and raw stone between the elegant tie-dye highlights the natural origin of the ingredients and the process of making them into delicious delicacies on the table. This process may take place through the seasons, the sun and the rain, and finally arrives on the diner's plate.

空间中腰鼓元素的加入，出乎意料却也自然而然，鼓作为云南的一种文化图腾，形式多样，取其中的瑶族扁鼓，象征云南少数民族以声音为媒介，渴望与神圣自然对话。

The addition of the drum element in the space seems unexpected, yet natural. Drums, as a cultural totem of Yunnan, come in various forms, among which the small flat drum of the Yao ethnic group is taken to symbolize the longing of Yunnan's ethnic minorities to use sound as a medium for dialogue with sacred nature.

云南作为一处被自然庇佑的高海拔地带

有着复杂多样的地貌环境

孕育着丰富的物种植被

形成了有别于中原地带的异域特色

正因为这种特殊性

让云南成为人们心中被云雾遮挡的玉龙雪山

神秘莫测

却让人想一睹风采

As a high-altitude area blessed by nature,

Yunnan hasa complex and varied

geomorphologicalenvironmentthat nurtures

a rich variety of species and vegetation,

forming an exotic character different

from that of the Central Plains.

It is because of this particularity,

so that Yunnan has become the Jade Dragon Snow Mountainobscured by

clouds and mists in people’s minds,mysterious and unpredictable,

but let people want to

catch a glimpse of the elegance.

云南民谚有“一山分四季，十里不同天”，四季温差虽变化微弱的云南，一旦迈入山中，则能随着海拔的起伏，体会到四季的巨大差异，如同垂直的立体气候带。

As a Yunnan proverb goes, "A mountain has four seasons, and ten miles have different weathers." Although the temperature difference between the four seasons varies slightly in Yunnan, once you step into the mountains, you can experience the huge difference between the four seasons with the rise and fall of the altitude. The mountain is just like a vertical three-dimensional climate zone.

设计师捕捉到云南地理、气候特质，将自然元素置入空间之中，营造出山水之间的就餐体验，运用长虹玻璃，形成隔而不断的隔间，似有若无的表述云南令人着迷的朦胧感，以孔雀羽挂画作为装饰，令就餐的过程成为一次当地精神体验之旅。

Capturing the geographical and climatic qualities of Yunnan, the designers put natural elements into the Eggplant Cha-Cha space to create a dining experience between the mountains and the water. The designers use the ribbed glass to form a compartment that is separated from the rest of the space, which seems to express Yunnan's mesmerizing sense of haze, and decorates with peacock feathers, making the dining process a journey of local spiritual experience.

以及在美食之中感叹：

Food is not only a cultural experience，

but also an emotional connection.

Liang Shiqiu's Talks about Eating in An Elegant Residence,

is a book about food,

in which cuisine has also

transcended the concept of itself.

Although he writes about food,

there is no lack of life's wisdom,"the Most Appropriate".

While enjoying food,

he laments the helplessness of "the spring breeze

does not change the waves of the old times".

对于餐厅的食客来说，无论是当地人，还是异乡旅人，在热气腾腾的菜肴，杯盏话语之间，缓缓感受食材情绪，能够在其中体会到对生活、自然和归属的热爱，才是真正的滇菜的本色。

For the diners of Eggplant Cha Cha, whether they are locals or travelers from other places, they can slowly feel the emotions of the ingredients between the steaming dishes, glasses of wine and chatting with companions, and be able to experience the love of life, nature and belonging in them, which is the essence of Yunnan cuisine.
